Thank you, Gourmet

I was excited to find a set of vintage The Gourmet Cookbook Vols I and II today.  I expected to find some less imaginative food with strong French roots.  It sure scored on that level.  What I did not expect was from page 9 of this 820 page tome.
Memo to the cook:...Bouquet Garni is the French term for a bundle, or faggot, of seasoning vegetables and herbs, tied with string for easy remove from the pot...

And so I say thank you, Gourmet.

  1. Funny you mentioned that! Lisa's cookbook has a quote from her friend that said "what the $&@! is a Bouquet Garni? Why not just call it tied weeds?"
